An exquisite and highly unusual antique cut glass and brass mechanical servants call bell pull. It can be used internally or externally with a mechanical type door bell or servants call bell box.
The handle is eloquently shaped in the form of a twisting serpent / dragon mythical creature with the glass handle held in its mouth. To the tail is stamped a diamond lozenge dating it to January 1864. The makers name "T.P & Sons" is stamped to the inner mechanism along with the registration numbers.
The casting is of outstanding quality, intricate and very decorative throughout. The cut glass is clear, has no sharp edges and sparkles wonderfully over the mercury mirrored centers.
