A wonderful piece of railway history, a Great Western throne toilet seat.

The solid brass hinges and the underside of the back piece are all imprinted with the initials GWR which stands for Great Western Railway. As you would expect this is an extremely high quality item both in the materials and workmanship.

Particularly interesting is the brass screw detailing to the underside of the seat, which is very similar in style to the King George seat that we have listed. It also has wonderful tri-recess pattern running all along the edge of the seat.

This is the type of seat that can be used with floor or wall brackets, or a floating shelf. They are not usually fitted to a standard toilet bowl, but it is possible - please do message us if you require any help with this.

It has been professionally restored to the very highest of standards. All the hinges are solid brass and the wood has a satin oiled finish which brings out the beautiful natural depth of the wood.
