Antique Ashwell's Brass Privacy Bathroom Lock - Vacant/Engaged

A fabulous original antique Ashwell's Patent solid brass toilet privacy lock.

This is not a reproduction, all parts are original apart from the handcrafted replacement keeps - two styles are supplied for whichever suits best.

The locking mechanism which when slid open/shut changes the vacant/engaged indicator on the outside of the door accordingly.

Stamped "Ashwell's Patent" and "C.C. & Co" insignia. Measures 12cm (4 3/4") wide & 6.5cm (2 1/2") high.

The ceramic Engaged/Vacant indicator is encased within a brass cover with gold guild painted glass. Measures 8cm (3 1/4") wide.

In excellent antique condition. Some wear to the gold and black paint and marks/hairlines around screw holes to the ceramic indicator, but nothing that distracts or affects functionality. Has been give a complete service ensuring good working order and has been lightly polished, but not lacquered so will dull down after time if that is the look that you prefer.
